DGS House Captains and Ethos Leaders hold cake sale for Macmillan fundraiser

    Posted on: 29/09/2017
On Friday 22 September, the House Captains and Ethos Leaders hosted a fundraiser  for Macmillan's 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' at DGS. The sun shone gloriously, and the school field was thronged by students and cakes and community spirit! This was by far our biggest and best cake sale, enabling us to send £500 to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Prior to the sale, the House Captains delivered assemblies all week about the vision held by Macmillan for the future of cancer treatment. This ties in well with out current Thought for the Term, which is also "Vision". Clara Zabell spoke beautifully in all seven assemblies about her 38 mile walk for cancer along The Ridgeway, inspiring students and staff with her resilience and determination.

I am very grateful to everyone who baked, bought and ate cake on the day but the Ethos Leaders deserve a very special mention for their day-long efforts towards a fantastic cause!
