Georgina littlerMiss G. Littler - Headteacher

Georgina graduated with a Degree in French and German from Nottingham University in 1998 and completed a PGCE at Oxford University shortly afterwards. Following several years teaching in Oxfordshire, she worked in International schools in Egypt and in the Philippines before returning to the UK to start a family. She then worked in the Cotswolds as Assistant Headteacher before taking on the role of Deputy Headteacher in Tewkesbury.  She truly loves working in education and passionately believes in its power to affect the life chances of young people for the better.

Georgina loves to travel but also enjoys spending time at home in the Cotswolds with her family and two dogs.


Mr J. CrossJames cross - Director of Didcot Sixth Form

James Cross graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in English Literature and Language, before completing a PGCE at the University of Keele and teaching in the West Midlands. He returned to Oxfordshire in 2014 to work at Didcot Girls’ School, where has held a variety of roles, most recently as Head of English and Associate Senior Leader. He has also worked across a number of schools as a Specialist Leader of Education, supporting English departments with curriculum development and raising standards.

James is responsible for the Didcot Sixth Form, working across both St Birinus School and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. He lives in Didcot, though hails originally from the North, and enjoys anything that takes him to more mountainous terrain.


MarthaDr M Hawes - Deputy Headteacher, Standards and Inclusion

Martha Hawes graduated with a degree in Physics from King’s College, University of London, and went on to complete a PhD at the same university. After a few years in publishing, she worked for an aid organisation in the Balkans following the break-up of the former republic of Yugoslavia. After returning to the UK, she completed her teacher training in Physics at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, followed by two years at a comprehensive school in Cardiff. She moved to Oxfordshire in 2007 to take up a teaching post at The Cherwell School in Oxford, where she went on to be Year Leader, and then Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and SENCO at the school. She joined Didcot Girls’ School as Deputy Headteacher in 2021.

Martha loves to be in the mountains or by the sea, and has a great love of gardening.


Miss S Roberts - Deputy Headteacher, Curriculum and Standards Leader

Sarah Roberts graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2007. After two years working in academic publishing, Sarah returned to Oxford University to gain her PGCE and to complete an MSc in Learning and Teaching. Following a training placement at Didcot Girls’ School, Sarah successfully applied for her first teaching post at the school and has never looked back. 

Prior to becoming Deputy Headteacher, Sarah held the post of Head of English and Media, associate member of the Senior Leadership Team and Assistant Headteacher. 

Sarah lives locally with her husband and two young children. 


ADTMr A Tamplin - Assistant Headteacher, Standards and Culture Years 7-8

Adam Tamplin graduated with a degree in Politics from Nottingham University and then embarked on a career in London working in Public Relations, with clients such as Save the Children, Barnardo's and the Department of Health. After three years in industry, Adam opted for a change in career and completed a PGCE at Exeter University. Adam then joined 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and found his vocation!

Adam has strong connections to the area, having been educated locally. He has a passion for working in the local community, and has been involved in many Citizenship campaigns both in and outside of school. Adam's main interests outside of school involve anything sport-related, from football to snooker, from cricket to darts.

Vanda PhotoMrs V Hodkinson - Assistant Headteacher, Standards & Culture Years 9-11

Vanda graduated from King’s College, London with a degree in English in 2008 and went on to complete a Masters in English Literature (specialising in Victorian Literature) at Warwick University. She then moved to Oxfordshire to complete her PGCE at Oxford University and has stayed in Oxfordshire ever since. She first taught at a school in Banbury and became a Head of Year in her second year of teaching. More recently, she worked at The Cherwell School in Oxford, where she was a Head of Year for 7 years and was on the Extended Senior Leadership Team. Vanda joined Didcot Girls’ School as Assistant Headteacher in January 2023. 

Vanda lives in Oxford with her husband and their cat, and enjoys sunshine, travel and photography.

Frances Ashton graduated from Oxford University with a degree in English Language and Literature in 2006. After a year working as a teaching assistant, Frances returned to Oxford University to gain her PGCE before taking her first post at Didcot Girls’ School. Prior to her appointment as Assistant Headteacher, Frances held a range of posts across the school, including Second in English, Advanced Learner Lead and Leader of Pedagogy. As Assistant Headteacher, Frances is responsible for designing and coordinating an innovative CPD programme for staff and ensuring that teaching across the school is challenging, inclusive and inspiring.

Frances lives locally with her husband and two young daughters and takes every opportunity she can to indulge her penchant for crime dramas and painting.


HLFMrs H Fulwell - Assistant Headteacher: Raising Standards Lead

Hannah grew up in Oxfordshire before moving away to Exeter to study Biology Sciences; she graduated in 2004. Hannah then completed her PGCE at Oxford University and gained a range of teaching experience before joining Didcot Girls’ School in 2008. Initially appointed as KS5 Science co-ordinator, Hannah was promoted to Second in Science before being appointed as Head of Science in 2012.

In 2015, Hannah was appointed as an Associate Senior Leader before acting as Raising Standards Leader in 2018. As Assistant Headteacher, Hannah is the Raising Standards Leader with responsibility for the academic progress of Years 10 and 11.


AXNDr A Naylor - Assistant Headteacher: Raising Standards Lead

Adam has a Master’s degree in Physics and a PhD in solid state Physics, both from the University of Leeds. He finished his PhD in 2010 and started his PGCE course the following September at the University of Oxford. He was lucky enough to have DGS as his training school and to be hired as a Science teacher the next year. He has held a variety of roles in the school including Head of Wilson House, Science BTEC Coordinator, Head of Physics, Second in Science, and Head of Science.  

In 2023, Adam was appointed Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the academic progress of students in the school. He loves teaching and working with young people and is proud to work at DGS. 

Dr Naylor enjoys a good story, loves to read, and watch films. He’s also a sport lover, particularly playing and watching football, and climbing mountains. He lives locally with his wife and two daughters. 


HEEMiss H Edwards - Assistant Headteacher: Standards and Culture

Harriet Edwards graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Music in 2017. She then entered the School Direct Teacher Training Programme within which DGS was her main placement school. On completing this she was appointed as Music teacher at DGS in 2018. Since then Harriet has held the post of Head of Year, Head of Music and Associate Senior Leader. 

In 2024 Harriet was appointed Assistant Head Teacher for Standards and Culture with responsibility for whole school behaviour and pastoral care at DGS.

Harriet enjoys many sport pursuits including netball and horse riding. She also enjoys being part of music ensembles in her own time.
