Y7 Headteachers' Essay Competition

Posted on: 13/09/2017

We are launching an exciting new competition for Year 7 students. In collaboration with St Birinus School, we are holding our first Headteachers' Essay Writing Competition.

The task is to write a 400 - 800 word essay on one of the following topics:

1. ‘My plan to halt the rise of extremist views in the world.’

2. ‘What could the UK learn from other countries and what could other countries learn from us?’

Entries will be judged on the coherence and quality of the content as well as the style and accuracy of the writing.

Prizes of a fountain pen will be awarded to the top 3 essays from each school, with prizewinners also being invited to a Celebration Breakfast with Mr Goodenough (Head of School at DGS), Mr Marston (Headteacher of St Birinus School) and Mrs Warwick (Executive Headteacher of Ridgeway Education Trust).

Deadline for entries is Monday 25th September. Entries can be handed to tutors, to Sherwood Office or can be emailed to head.4139@didcotgirls.oxon.sch.uk.

Good luck!
