Students celebrate Harry Potter Book Night
Posted on: 07/02/2019On Wednesday 6th February, students took part in a Harry Potter cake competition, in celebration of Harry Potter Book Night. The participants clearly put in a huge amount of time and effort, and the results were some absolutely stunning (and delicious) cakes.
Over lunch, it was down to the Reading Ambassadors to judge the best cakes in four categories: best Harry Potter theme; best overall presentation; most creative entry and most effort. The individual winners will be announced in next week's Celebration Assemblies, but Kennedy House scored the most points through participation alone - great work, Kennedy!
After school, Year 7 students gathered in the library to watch 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' while enjoying slices of cake in what we hope will be the first of many film nights.
Harry Potter Book Night is all about passing on the magic of J.K. Rowling’s amazing books to the next generation of readers, as well as celebrating with devoted fans. Now in its fifth year, there are hundreds of events planned all around the world, across bookshops, libraries, schools and people’s homes. Click for more information.
