Posted on: 10/03/2025

On Thursday 6th March, dozens of students attended school dressed as a favourite book character in celebration of World Book Day. The library was crowded with literary figures at lunch time as students hoped to win the costume competition. After much deliberation, the following entries were chosen as this year's best:

Darcey Richards (Y7) as Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games

Darcey Richards (7)

Scarlett Grootz (Y8) and Jess Newman (Y9) as Thesaurus and Dictionary

Scarlett Grootz (8) and Jess Newman (9)

Rose Hancock (Y10) as Agent Carter from the Marvel comics

Rose Hancock (10)

On Wednesday, members of Senior Science Club took part in an exciting investigation to find out if dystopian literary worlds had a biological reason for evil! Students gathered information about the books in the library and then carried out a series of analytical tests of samples taken from these literary worlds.
