Elle McNicoll inspires Year 8 students
Posted on: 10/12/2024On Monday 9th December, Year 8 were treated to a talk from award-winning author Elle McNicoll. Elle's debut novel A Kind of Spark is one of the books featured in the Year 8 Reading Aloud scheme, so students were keen to hear more about the book and the inspiration behind their favourite characters. The talk covered the criticalness of diversity and representation in children's publishing, the importance of being true to oneself and the power of books. Elle's journey to becoming a published author was truly inspiring and students were delighted to be able to meet her and get books signed over lunch time.
