Students win £1000 for Clear Sky Children's Charity

Posted on: 13/06/2024

On Friday 7th June, 9NFM won £1000 for the brilliant local charity, Clear Sky Children's Charity. As part of the First Give initiative, Year 9 students have raised £100s over the last few weeks for eight different local charities, as well as raising plenty of awareness of our wonderful local voluntary sector.

9NFM were really active in supporting Clear Action raising both money and awareness of the work they do, through a Cake Sale and a very creative Lend a Hand mural lunchtime project. This saw lots of DGS pupils get involved by creating colourful imprints of their hands on a huge canopy, which drew attention to some of the therapy and art projects Clear Action undertake with its service users.

Each of the Year 9 tutor groups delivered fantastic campaigns to support their chosen charity and we are very proud of the money they raised and the impressive way they spoke in their final presenations on Friday. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
